Krasnodar, Augus 31 – Yug Times. Over the past six months, the roadbeds of many streets in Krasnodar have reportedly been undergoing major reconstruction. City administration has even opened a public in the VKontakte network calling on the townspeople to more actively control the work of the road builders — but it is not enough.
All hand’s job in Krasnodar began in mid-June, when Vitali Lebedev, a third-year student of one of the city’s higher schools, during the hotline with President Putin complained about the bad state of the roadbed of Novorossiyskaya Street, proving his words with a video — and the work moved into high gear at several dozens of sites.
As a matter of fact, the problem had been known of long before it was reported to President. Many documents proved this fact, for instance, the priority program of complex development of the city’s transport infrastructure approved in February 2017. The program provided for the allocation of over 3.1 billion rubles to repair the roads. By the end of this year, 51 sections, including the broken roadbed of Turgenev Street, will reportedly have been repaired. Public control over the state of the roadbeds in the Krasnodar region began to work at the beginning of this year, when the All-Russia Popular Front launched the interactive project called “The Map of the Crushed Roads.” In many respects, it was due to this project that the city officials grasped what their priorities in road maintenance should be.
Governor Veniamin Kondratiev has also called to use the money transparently. It is very important, because there are no efficient tools to control the work of the road workers: the same clerks who allocated the money then control the quality of the accomplished works.
However, the modern technologies make it possible for the authorities to report of their work online. For instance, an interactive map of the roads to be repaired may be developed. It may feature a number of important parameters, like the length, terms and volume of the repair works, and the cost of a square metre of the new road.
A similar map has already been developed by the Civic Chamber of the Kirov region — so Kuban may and should take over from them.
