Krasnodar, 13 October – Yug Times. A project of large-scale upgrading and expansion of the MEGA Adyghea Mall has reportedly started in the Takhtamukai rayon, Republic of Adyghea.
The main goal of the 14-billion-worth project financed by IKEA Centres Russia is transformation of one of the biggest South Russian shopping centres into a full-scale entertainment centre.
The aim of the project is to transform the shopping complex into a bright modern venue for meetings, rendezvous, recreation and communication, and to change the traditional image of pastime at a mall. Thus the project will include a large park zone with two ponds, an open-air restaurant cluster, play- and sport grounds, and a ground for outdoor events and festivals.
Head of Adyghea Murat Kumpilov stressed that the ten-tear-long cooperation between the region and IKEA Centres Russia has been very fruitful in economic and image planes. The opening of the MEGA Mall in the Takhtamukai rayon was a signal for other players in the market, like METRO and Decathlon.
“IKEA is an anchor investor,” summed up Mr. Kumpilov.
In his turn, Milen Genchev, Director General IKEA Centres Russia, thanked the Adyghean authorities for the constructive cooperation and assistance in the development of the new investment project.
