Hostels: Boom Goes On

Hostels: Boom Goes On

Krasnodar, 20 October – Yug Times. Low-cost hostels enjoy wide popularity of the visitors of the Kuban's capital.

Krasnodar is becoming a more appealing and interesting destination from the viewpoint of cultural, cognitive, entertaining, business and other kinds of tourism. Many guests prefer to stop at hostels — so that high competition in this segment stimulates the market players to seek for some specialties to attract their guests.

“Presently there are about 50 hostels in Krasnodar,” says Irina Kolaiko, General Director of the Kurort Konsalting (Resort Consulting) Expert Appraisal and Quality Centre. “The figure changes, because some hostels are closing, giving way to the competition, while others are opening. The hostel sector is developing actively. Most of them have opened in Krasnodar over the past one or two years.”

All accommodation facilities in the cities hosting the 2018 World Cup and in other cities whose list was approved by the respective regional authorities had to pass mandatory classification at one of the specialized accredited organizations by January 1, 2017. Most often, the hostel are accredited in the ‘no-star’ category, but some of them may aspire to be given ‘stars’.

“In our modern interiors with unusual design, our guests make themselves at home,” says Anton Koltsov, co-owner of the BlaBlaHostels&Rooms chain. “The difference of a hostel from a conventional hotel is that it has space for recreation where thematic activities are held. For instance, we hold movie shows that gather together most of our guests. Also we provide free access to modern game facilities in the common hall.

“Our target group is people that keep a healthy lifestyle,” says Marina Meshcheriakova, Director of the eco-hostel chain of Mais Oil Yug Group of Companies. “Drinking alcohol is forbidden in our campuses. Our temporary or permanent residents are representatives of free professions, teachers of yoga and other subjects. The guests often arrange concerts and master classes for each other. A peculiar environment-friendly atmosphere is one of our marketing advantages.”
