Krasnodar, 12 December – Yug Times. The regional authorities will hand the regional motorway Temriuk — Bely — Krasnodar over to federal ownership.
Soon this will reportedly be the main highway leading to Crimea. Commenting on the issue, Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev stated that the road must be reconstructed before the Crimean bridge opens for traffic.“Kuban is used to transport overloads, especially in the summer season, when we are receiving holidaymakers from throughout the country,” said Mr. Kondratiev. “But when the bridge is brought into service, the load will increase manifold. So what we are facing now is a composite task — the process of transfer of the ownership of the road to the federal centre must go in line with its reconstruction.”
Presently it is a two-lane road with 17 railway intersections, which is why it will be necessary to get rid of the barriers and traffic lights, build overpasses and detours, and widen the existing carriageway, said Governor.
Mr. Kondratiev’s initiative has been supported by Vladimir Ustinov, Russian President’s Plenipotentiary in the Southern Federal District.
