Krasnodar, 19 December – Yug Times. During the annual press conference in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the opening of scientific laboratories near the Sirius Education Centre in Sochi.
The press conference summoned a record number of journalists from all corners of the country and abroad, including from Krasnodar region. Our editor-in-chief Marina Tugaeva also took part in the event. Answering the question about the work of the state with gifted children, Mr. Putin said that the main task of the parents and teachers is to reveal these gifts. A series of educational centres, for instance, Sirius in Sochi, Orlionok in Tuapse rayon and Artek in Crimea, work hard on this task. “But Sirius is not just a mere camp — it’s centre of work with the talents,” noted Mr. Putin. “On my initiative, scientific laboratories will be formed in Sochi in several directions — cognitive and information technologies, biology and genetics.
In the campus of the Olympic Park, nine hectares of land will be allocated for a mathematic boarding school, and 30 hectares for an IT industrial park equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and production buildings.
